About

A gift is a small act of attention

Kindred is a premium platform for personal gifts: experiences, invitations, promises, help, objects and money. The product promise is simple — gifts that say what someone means to you.

Most gift products start with the transaction and work backwards, which is why they feel like shops. Kindred starts with the person: what you want them to know, and what you are willing to do about it. The card carries the meaning; the details carry the commitment.

The interface is deliberately restrained — an editorial aesthetic for the parts you look at, and fintech precision for the parts where amounts, networks and statuses have to be exact. They are separate zones and they never blend.

What this build is

A working front end and data layer: route structure, design system, the four-step creation wizard, preview, gift pages and the workspace — with loading, empty, error and success states throughout.

What it is not, yet

  • · No MetaMask connection or Sign-In with Ethereum
  • · No USDC payments, escrow or refunds
  • · No tokens of any kind

Those layers are specified and their interfaces are stubbed, so they can be implemented without reshaping the product.

Product foundations

Five principles

  • Meaning before form

You decide what you want to express. The design helps you present it well — it never decides for you.

  • Visual, not bureaucratic

Categories, cards and previews let you decide with your eyes instead of filling in a long form.

  • Personalisation without complexity

Text, details, an amount or conditions. Only the fields a specific scenario needs are ever shown.

  • Trust and transparency

Clear conditions, safe payments, and statuses that describe what actually happened.

  • Two equal experiences

It should be easy to make a gift, and genuinely pleasant to open one, understand it and accept it.

Start with one person

The rest of the product follows from thinking about them rather than about the checkout.
